From piles of paperwork to automated registration

To save time on a construction project, Groothuis Bouwgroep uses access control from IQ-Pass. Superintendent Jan Bos is very satisfied and says of the cooperation: "People register and have already done an extensive check in advance, this saves us a lot of time and ensures professional access control. Receiving an average of 100 people every day has been taken out of my hands thanks to IQ-Pass."

An automated system
Groothuis Bouwgroep, a leading construction company from Genemuiden, is currently building a new commercial building for a logistics company in Amsterdam. For this project, they are working mainly with subcontractors, which makes managing access control a challenging task. In the past, access control was done manually, with pen and paper. With IQ-Pass, Groothuis Bouwgroep has an automated system that simplifies employee registration and effortlessly manages turnstile access to the construction site.

Registration and security
Jan Bos: "I enter the companies' VAT numbers in GoWorkforce. Then they receive an e-mail in which they can register their employees. I don't have to do anything else." Employees register in advance, watch a video with safety instructions and take a test. Foreign employees can watch the safety instructions in their own language. Workers can also enter certificates, such as a valid VCA certificate. "When they arrive here and they have gone through everything, they get a pass from the porter and go through a turnstile into the construction site."

Accurate registration
A key advantage of IQ-Pass is the ability to keep accurate records of workers present. In fact, currently 75 to 80 people are present at the construction site, but this number will increase to 100 to 125 employees per day by the end of the year. IQ-Pass not only provides insight into the number of people on site, but also enables Jan Bos to generate detailed time records. "From each batch, we receive an Excel list of the hours worked," says Bos.

Save time and work more efficiently
Jan Bos finds it a disadvantage that he no longer has to talk to everyone on the site himself. On the other hand, IQ-Pass saves him a lot of time because he does not have to greet people all day. "On a large project like this, it is not possible to see everyone yourself. You need a professional access control system to work more efficiently. Most of the people who come here are registered in advance. Besides, everyone here knows that I am the manager.

IQ-Pass and future projects
Groothuis Bouwgroep is very satisfied with its cooperation with IQ-Pass and recommends the system to everyone. Jan Bos plans to use IQ-Pass for future major projects as well. A colleague has also recently joined him and is interested in using the system on two other projects.
